btw, just wonder why Taipei and Singapore are not in the higher list. Visited twice and this cities're safe and nice to go for countdown. 

and the sad part was KL is stick at 20 le... perhaps the security was alarming which causing the travelers stop or lesser to go there.

Taiwan Trip ... Day 1 ...

Early morning about 6am, we have to wake up and rush to the airport as we don't know what the procedure is... going down to the G floor, checked out and there's a shuttle waiting us, only charged RM1 per person. actually it only takes less than 3 minutes ride. so immediately look on the step and figure out what should we do inside the airport. 

checked in the luggage as our 1st priority, then only we can sit down relax and enjoying our breakfast in McD & online. after breakfast, there's still have plenty of time to wait and wait as our flight is only depart by 10am. while waiting, got time to flush everything inside the body. the toilet consider moderate clean, can sit with longer period while waiting the next "egg" dropping ... hehe. Playing Sudoku until i was forgotten there's people waiting. after done the business, is time to continue wait and wait. another time of mumbling that $$ not enough again...arrrr..... have to go any other ATM to cashout my money which i had to waste the RM1 for different bank MEPS and go at any exchange station to change the Taiwan Dollar. this round is only 8.43882. another round of unhappy lo...

okay, don't waste the time thinking of $$, just focus the moment and enjoy the trip. before that, each of us called back home and 报平安. about the time, we moved to the depart room after passport verification and carry bag checking... damn... i didn't put my bathing stuff into the luggage as they only allowed the max 100ml bottle in the carry bag. so they thrown away my shampoo, body shampoo, and toothpaste. T.T why i never checked the rules and regulations before go... memang 大乡里... bring some1 which lagi teruk than me. so these important 日常用品 and have to buy again in Taiwan dy. then we are moved to Depart room. while waiting, syok syok go snap photos.

About 15 minutes before depart, they only open the gate and allowed us to enter the flight. during online purchase, i was chosen the free seat so i can sit at anywhere (i thought i can), mana tau they had arranged the seat when we checked in. btw, the seat was arranged at aisle and middle seats, or else we can have a good seat near the window. but anyway, i still can use my 傻瓜机 to snap the wings and sometime i go to those "reserved" seat and snap some nicer cloud photos.

Since that orang kampung which beside me never taste the food in flight 
(me too ^_^, never eaten food provided by AirAsiaX), thus i had ordered the international food (sounds fabulous or attractive)... but it's nothing special anyway.

After chosen from head to tail, so i decided to pre-order "Szechuan Chicken and steamed rice". this meal is nothing special lo. we just ordered 1 pack as the journey only take 4 hours only. the stomach is actually reserved for Taiwan meal... hehe.

Few hours later after eaten and take short nap, done everything business in wash room, feel really 无聊 le, so take short tour and walk from business seat to economy seat, take 2nd picture while sitting on the "hot" seat. the surpassing beauty of the scenery outside the window really nice and attractive.

4 hours and 50 minutes later and met the 气流 twice, finally we were arrived Taiwan Tao Yuan international airport. was amazed with the service in the airport, international standard. lots of visitors come to Taiwan per day, but they still manage the crowd and flow was linear. not feel congested at all and really impressive. just a few minutes later, we had settled our passport and continue to take our luggage.

Then we exit the place and before proceed, we had seen the tourism counter and decided to ask for more info. They are served us politely and give us lots of info which more than we needed. besides that, i had seen there's some visitors ask for form, thus i ask can i apply, unfortunately i was over the age. they only offer for those visitors ages less or equal 30 only. T.T

is alright, so we only apply for 1. they give some souvenir too. they are very strong in promoting their country very well. later the officer ask, have you book the hotel for tonite? well, our answer absolutely say no. he provide us a complete file which contains almost 90% accurate hotel contacts and info over the Taiwan. well, we decided to stay in Taipei, so we choose the most budget hotel. but we had fail to reach the hotel... err... potentially they didn't update the info well. we tried 1 by 1, finally we able to book 1 hotel named " １加１旅馆 ". the officer without stop helping us by providing more info, such as how to go and where to walk when we reached there... i never seen this helpful and nice officer. ^_^ btw, i didn't see his anger (or 火遮眼) showing on his face at all, only smiley face.

immediately we take a quick move and take bus to Taipei station. there're few options you can go from airport to hotel, but we decided to go by budget way as this journey involve bus and taxi. both add up is only 365NT$ for 2 persons, 250NT$ by bus and 115NT$ for taxi. if you wish to take the easiest way is taking taxi directly from airport to hotel, but defintely not our plan as it'll over our budget, more than 1K NT$ i guess. after purchase bus ticket, we moved to the depart station and wait the bus which it'll route to our destination. 1st time taking local bus, the bus driver and the staff help us to put our belongings into the storage, and then he quickly sit on the driver seat and move. we have to react fast, or else we'll left the bus. exploring new experience as they're opposite way compare to Malaysia, driver sit on the left side. the sky are dark, followed by the rain. feeling dizzy with cold. the journey takes about 40 minutes, feels that it's quite far although the bus was fast. anyway we were reached the town and start to feel hungry.

we quickly jump to the station nearby and search for our 1st meal to feed our stomach. like a thunder, we were reached the food court and made an order. after glance thru and filter out some... then i had ordered local traditional noodle (擔仔面) and chicken rice. the name might same in Malaysia, but the taste is totally different. while waiting, both of us only can just wait, nothing can be done. they're systematic, follow by numbers.

few minutes later, it's our turn. 擔仔面 originally was 台南小吃. it's usually combines with mee (麵條)、bihun (米粉)、taugeh (豆芽菜)、coriander (香菜)、small prawn (蝦仁)、sauce (少許湯汁) and special made minced meat (獨門肉碎). it charged 70NT$ (or roughly equal to RM7.60). if you are taugeh lover, say sorry 1st because these taugeh cannot compare with Ipoh taugeh lo. btw, overall this meal is still accepted. if you don't want the 滷蛋, they only charged 60NT$.

i had ordered the chicken rice in set (鸡饭套餐). it comes with 3 types of vege, 1 sup, 1 medium bowl of rice, and 1 big plate of chicken. ohya, with free bottomless beverage. the chicken is different compare with our Malaysian chicken, because the fat layer was transparent and chewy (generally Taiwanese said it's "QQ").

after fill up our hungry stomach, have short period of window shopping, can't spend much time at here because we still need to settle down for tonight. immediately go to take taxi and ask for the destination. ohya, we don't know where's the hotel location but able to provide the simple info to the taxi driver, since he know that street well. very soon we're  arrived at the hotel. when we look at the hotel outside, we thought that hotel got Kok-kok (hooker). but it's going to sunset, and we just need an accommodation for that night and thus decided to ignore about it. 1 night for that hotel is charged 900NT$. btw, it's kind of old century budget hotel.

after settle down, put everything inside the room, then we tried to survey the hotel surrounding. i saw there's 1 stall was selling Fried Tofu (臭豆腐).

Local 臭豆腐 is very crunchy, topping with special made sauce. mixing with some cabbage which soaked with vinegar, it's AWESOME. haha... is different with Malaysian style fried tofu. after finished it, we continue walked further to explore more. the nearest and famous with lots of entertainment night place is Xi Men Ding (西门盯). crowded but safe, where you can enjoy window shopping without worry on people watching your $$.

I saw a special snack during the walk, ice cream peanut popiah and never eaten this snack before.

With greedy feeling, i decided to buy 3 rolls and only 100NT$. let see how are they made it. they open the popiah "skin" [(薄餅皮) - which is soft & thin like a paper crepe or pancake made from wheat flour] on the table, with some coriander (香菜) for topping on popiah skin, shave the maltose peanut and top up onto the popiah skin, scoop 2 yam ice cream and put on it, then wrap the popiah skin... that's it~!!

if u don't like coriander, can ask him don't put it. overall it taste great, u won't feel any ingredient not match, because all is sweet. this ice cream is less milk, full aroma with yam. imagine how tasty it is, i can finish 2 rolls even in raining day.

after eaten the ice cream popiah, is time to continue exploring this area. we found 1 condom shop (保险套世界)... a lot of differences compare Malaysia condom shop. eye opener for me as i never seen so many funny stuff in this shop... Oops.. 18sx shop. we also found 大雕烧 (better i remove the photo, u can try google it.. ^_^ ) and thought to buy for friends, but mana-tau after walk few roads we can't remember which road and don't know where is the condom shop... sigh.

toilet restaurant... very big and attractive cartoon park beside the door.

ohya... remember to bring a spare shoe or wear the quality shoe, or else it's very expensive if you bought over there. am not sure what went wrong, the shoe all the while is good condition, but on that day the bottom layer was peel off and i had no choice to buy new shoe. was bought brand G.P sandal and 750NT$ was gone in the wind~~ T.T

after whole day walking in Taipei, no more energy on our leg... so we decided to go back hotel. when we arrive hotel, the hotel boss was added with a younger 1. we start to chatting in the hall. they are very friendly and guide us where to go and how to go. few hours later, we really exhausted and go back room sleep. here's end of our 1st day trip.

Taiwan Trip ... day before travel ...

Never travel oversea by own. Thus it's quite nervous for me. Is like "Orang Kampung Keluar Bandar" lo... haha. Only booked and paid air flight. The rest like accommodation, transportation, and etc were never planned. Quite steady hor~ ^_^


In the early morning breakfast with mom, go Ipoh town collect Ms. Yap's stuff and put in car, then go back Menglembu to fetch mom back home. After done all these, only we have time to go Seremban and park my car.


Finally reached Seremban with safe. Then we moved to KL central to meet friends, Kenny and Lilian. After chat in McD, exchange $$ is a must. Exchange rate on that day for Ringgit Malaysia to Taiwan Dollar is only 9.04977 (vs 9.17431 that i had changed last week). Not really worth if you compare with local exchange shop. Can't do anything lo, if not i will just been mumbling $$ not enough not enough.


After that, follow friends to sing @ Karaoke Neway. once we reached and parked the car, i noticed that the tyre was punctured. such a lucky day. immediately drive to repair and back to Neway. luckily there's a shop was not closed, or else we have to change the tyre and do like a cow... haha.


another round of reached the Neway, luckily the guard was remembered us and said no need to pay again. once stepped in Neway, i was remembered that i had a bad experienced lo, after buffet with sing K in Times Square Neway, once i stepped out from the shop, walking down to the escalator, immediately vomit into the dustbin without any sign. Oo... shameful neh... luckily i saw the dustbin, otherwise, i might been charged lo ...err... hehe... totally out of my control. btw, this round am been act smart, which only choose the food that small amount and nice to eat. the food over here is not so tempting, just normal only. but variety of choices la. Having fun time in Neway is short, and yet our voice is getting slow and slow.. so decided to leave by 11pm++.


then we are moving to LCCT, there's some misdirection and miss out the junction... therefore we only reached the LCCT hotel by 1am. immediately without wasting of time, i tell the very kind and helpful Lilian & Kenny back lo. or otherwise tomorrow they'll become Panda dy. ^_^ Without wasting time, immediately get onto bed and sleep. Exciting now~

Pre - Taiwan trip

1st time write vacation blog. ;-)
btw, there're some funny experience and few things as eye opener in this vacation.
besides that, i like to compare while enjoying the trip.
will publish the expenses as well, but some part was missing as i do not know where the $$ goes.. =.="


After busying everything in June, is time to enjoy a trip which i was visited in few year ago. last time it's same like 赶鸭子团.. which is follow the bus, rushing to next destination and only spend little time on each places. that's why prefer to be backpacker.


quite interesting to explore a country which is i like it most, there's some reason on this, the security are safe (u can walk in the street during night without fear on any disaster that might happen on u), surpassing beauty of scenery and landscape, the peoples are friendly and educated, and some new technology which u cant see it in your country so soon. I had experienced that 1st time i bought the Solar Key Chain, after about 7yrs later only i can see it was sold in Malaysia... sigh.


1st airline that lift me to Taiwan was China Airline, now Air Asia X. Both airlines got pros and cons. China Airline is providing free meal and some souvenirs are free. Good service and smiley face. But I was remembered that the plane was landed a bit scary, it's safe landing but the break sound was heard when it's touching on land. While Air Asia X aircraft was landed even better. If am not mistaken, the aircraft should be Airbus A330. Quite comfort inside the plane, although is quite small anyway. The overall ticket price is RM2293 for 2 persons.

We didn't book hotel before travel, therefore we have to bring more cash for standby. Actually I had exchanged RM3000 to 27.5K Taiwan dollar, but the one next to me keep on mumbling and said not enough, not enough. End up, I have to cash out from ATM and exchange it in KL central & LCCT for the rate that make the RM value become smaller and smaller. Oo.. imagine you lost minimum RM100 before u travel, do u still happy during travel? Just to cover up someone's feeling of worry about money not enough.

Firefly watching trip & Restoran HK (海景茶室) @ Nibong Tebal, Penang

Firefly... is not referring to the air flight company Firefly.

But it's the real fireflies watching trip along the sea.

I had tried whatever technique to snap / video record on the night scene, but unfortunately I was failed.

Only got the small and tiny light blinking in the dark.

Thus, I suggest u to come over here to watch it live, only then u'll be amazed with the environment.

Let's talking back and share with u the whole journey.

The normal price for this trip is RM95, including a romantic sunset cruise for bird watching, fish farm visiting, dinner (Non-Halal), and fireflies watching. The time is start about 4:30pm, end about 9:30pm.

Before we start our journey, we had tried the localized food.

Along the road, we had seen the crowded stalls, in our mind... should be nice and tasty food will be there.

There's 2 stalls are selling the same Laksa and ABC.

We choose the 2nd stall because it near with us.

ABC (Ais Batu Campur), RM2.80

Actually there's no different compare others.

But what I can say is... the ice snow is smooth and tasty.

Neither oversweet nor tasteless.

The peanuts are crunchy, not oily nor overnight food.

I thought I can taste the Laksa there, but my friend was missing out to order for me. (=.=")

After finished the food and ABC, we were immediately moved to the cottage where the people are gathered who’ll watch the fireflies.

The Amazing Planner is the company who are manage this trip. U can download the map if u plan to adventure /explore by ur own.

The octopus farm only open on March, RM250 per pax.

There're other company like Kelip-kelip firefly.

Let's begin the journey after settle down the payment, wearing the life jacket, and some photo shooting.

This is the boat that'll fetch us, can fit approx. 20pax.

The journey begins...

We were passing by some trees that we didn’t notice that those mangrove trees / berembang tree @ Sungai Kerian are full with fireflies, because the moment we passing by is in the evening, therefore we are not focus on the tree.

Then, we were passing those trees which fully occupied with white birds. (Not sure which species of the bird, White Ibis Perches, Egret, or Heron Perches)

Then we were reaching the largest fish farm.

I had never tried this adventure before, we had to stand at the floating wooden stage, which it might be broken at any time.

Once I stable myself on the stage, I’m interested to see how far I can reach.

But as faster as I walked, the wooden stage is shaking dramatically increase.

Besides that, on other end of the stage, there’s a dog was walking towards me.

Wauu so scary… either I should turning back or directly jump into the fish farm.

End up, the dog is so tame and even do not bark at all. So cute.

When we reached just now, the workers are start feeding the fish with the food in capsule form.

Once the food being thrown into the farm, those fishes are too aggressively and greedily eaten the food.

While watching, I had spotted some of the fishes were kept in the special case.

It was separated might be take out for our dinner later.

This fish farm business is doing well, those fisherman’s boats are continuously come 1 after 1, never stop.

Seen 1 boat is very aggresive and speeding.

After that, we were moving to the next… dinner time.

We were reached at the village.

Next, we had been guided to the Restoran HK.

It’s not located in Hong Kong anyway… is their Cantonese restaurant name… means “Sea View”.

The restaurant is other shops also named “HK”… weird… (=.=”)

In the package, 1 drink provided and food.

Ordered Carrot Milk.

The ice cube were fully covered, the cup is shapely small.

Is slightly oversweet and myb we are too thirsty, just a moment… I had finished the whole cup of carrot milk.

After waiting for a while, the foods were being served.

Fish, not sure what type of this fish… not come in whole piece, been chopped like no head no tail.

Fried rice

Overall the taste is not so fabulous… just okay only.

After dinner, is time to watch firefly.

Seems like a bit darker, now is the best time to enjoy watching firefly.

But today in Lunar Calendar is 14th of the month, thus almost full moon tonight.

Along the way, can see the synchronized flashes of light gently hovering over mangrove trees that lined the river bank.

No video… is better u come to watch in real. Very nice.

After finished the trip, is time go back.

Thought want to try out the juice from Nypa Palm, but too many mosquito during night time… so cancel to order at last.

Continue to have 2nd dinner at nearby shop… In next blog. ;-)

Overall trip is special, adventure and new exploring experience for me.

Ingredient for ABC is nice and delicious. But the food @ Restaurant HK is so-so.

The taste is okay… but the environment is very nice because it’s sunset when we’re having dinner.

The price at here is considering normal. No tax (Service Tax + Government Tax)

Not much food variety over here, small town.

Restoran Terapung Pulau Aman @ Pulau Aman, Simpang Ampat, Seberang Perai Selatan, Penang (Halal)

Have u ever tried to take lunch by riding boat?

There’s my 1st experienced that never tried before, we had to ride a boat to Pulau Aman, an island which is very small and minority populations.

For only RM6, the return ride is consider cheap.

A bit weird why it was called “Kompleks Jeti Batu Musang”

But anyway, this is the only jetty that boat will pick u up to Pulau Aman.

The journey had been taken approx. 15minutes.

With the surpassing beauty scenery, our journey become more enjoyable.

U can see the 2nd Penang Bridge (which is under construction) at other end of the sea.

After 15mins travel from the jetty, there’s the only floated restaurant beside the island and there’s our destination that looking for.

Something special for me, which I ever seen before, the restaurant is combining with the shrimp farms.

Therefore, the shrimps and the other seafood are fresh.

U can order those seafood at the farm and then bring it to the restaurant, the chef will cook for u. To taste the best, they’ll steam the seafood only.

Big Prawn, RM53 per kilo (price may be changed)

These prawn are clean after the worker cut off the long whisker.

These prawns are about same size as your thumb and longer than your middle finger.

Besides that, u can order Lai Urinary Shrimp (蝦蛄 a.k.a 攋尿蝦).

The size is extremely big, almost same like medium size Palinuridae (龙虾), about 20cm long.

Tadaaa…here u go, the Mee Udang from Pulau Aman, RM6 and RM10 is Special Mee Udang

The “Special” is added more prawn only.

Is very nice and delicious… Thicker aroma of prawn soup and a bit sour with some drops of lemon. Fresh and chewy prawn that I never tasted before.

Beverage here is quenching our thirst. Thai Coconut. RM4.00

Sweet drink, thick layer of coconut flesh.

There’s other menu that u can choose.

If u choose “Special”, the only different is they’ll add more prawns.

Anyway reminder for the last trip back to Batu Kawan is until 6pm only.

Therefore if u late and not able to take the last trip, u have to wait until tomorrow morning then only can go back.

Besides that, u also can visit other places in this island.

After having such an delicious meal, we decided to walk around the island.

Only walking few meters from the restaurant, found 1 type of dead puffer fish. So cute… but…

There’re other fruits that hardly can be found in town too, Ciku.

This island scenery are very beautiful.

Before we left, during on board, we spotted there’s jellyfish in the sea.

Finally, we left and continue another journey.

Overall the ingredient are fresh and chewy.

The food are tasty and delicious.

The pricing is reasonable, no tax (Service Tax + Government Tax)

The food variety is moderate low. Only few options can be chosen.

The environment is slightly warm but still accepted.

The service is good.
